Pelvic Health Physical Therapy

Pelvic Health Physical Therapy addresses the unique musculoskeletal problems of the pelvic/hip region that can have a significant impact on quality of life. Over the years, the field has expanded to include a myriad of not only pregnancy related issues, but also breast, organ and fascial tissue issues.  Common diagnoses under the scope of Pelvic Health PT include pelvic pain and dysfunction, mastectomy scarring/pain, sacroiliac joint dysfunction, hip pain, endometriosis, menstrual/PMS issues, infertility, painful intercourse, and urinary incontinence….just to name a few!

Patients Receive:

Initial Examination:  A private room, 40 minute, 1-on-1 evaluation with a Doctor of Physical Therapy certified in Pelvic Health.

Follow up sessions:  All follow-up sessions are 40 minutes and are always 1-on-1 with your Pelvic Health certified Doctor of Physical Therapy in a private treatment room.

Treatments:  Typically focus on manual therapy (gentle myofascial release, soft tissue mobilizations, etc), and biomechanical muscular work to learn/relearn how to engage and use certain muscles.

Education and Preventative Measures:  Patients will be educated on any musculoskeletal issues that may be causing or contributing to their symptoms and will receive a detailed home exercise program to continue their healing independently between sessions.
