Posture Program

Posture is a vitally important and frequently overlooked aspect of health.  People workout for all different reasons - sports performance, weight management, vanity, and "because it feels good" - to list a few.  But rarely do people say they're working out to help their body work more efficiently to maintain the postures they use throughout a day.  But if most people spend over 8 hours a day sitting at a computer/in meetings/in class, and an additional 2 hours per day sitting on the couch/in their car/on the T, shouldn't postural training be one of the most important parts of your exercise program?

Why does Posture matter?

Anyone who lifts weights or runs marathons can tell you how important repetitions are, but how many reps does it take to increase muscular endurance for posture? How much time under tension/exercise is needed to sit for an hour painfree? Now think of how much time you spend simply holding your own body position all day.

If you're lucky and you get 8 hours of sleep, and you exercise for an hour or so per day, you have 15 hours of postural work to do per day. And how much of that 15 hours is spent sitting at your desk? In your car? On your couch? Do you think all that time of postural work might be affecting your performance in life if it's sub-optimal? Why spend 1-2 hours per day at the gym of non-specific strengthening your muscles, mobilizing your joints and conditioning your heart and lungs if you will spend 15 hours tightening your muscles, stiffening your joints and depressing your heart and lungs? 

Joint Ventures' Posture Program is designed to evaluate exactly how your posture may be affecting you, how you can improve your posture and how that can lead to increased function and performance, decreased pain and a happy, healthier you!

Program Information:

After your FREE evaluation, Joint Ventures offers one-on-one posture-focused training to help you find the most efficient posture for you in all positions and build the strength to maintain it.  The end result of your sessions will be a better understanding of posture; a more efficient and less painful standing, sitting and walking posture; improved lung function; and progress toward your personal goals related to stress reduction, sports performance and/or general wellness.

Location:  Kenmore Square office only.
Attire:      Workout shorts, a T-shirt, and sneakers.
Cost:         We offer 1 hour sessions in 4 packages:
                        5 Sessions  -  $500 ($100 per session)
                        10 Sessions - $950 ($95 per session)
                        15 Sessions - $1350 ($90 per session)
                        20 Sessions - $1700 ($85 per session)
